An Intelligent Platform for Academic Communication and Learning

Problem: Lengthy technical lectures create comprehension bottlenecks when students miss nuanced explanations without modular review tools.
Solution: An academic learning assistant that parses lecture videos and audio into clean timestamped transcripts, modular concept summaries, and self-testing quizzes.
Engineering & Implementation: Built speech-to-text pipeline using faster-whisper with audio extraction via FFmpeg. Integrated Gemini 2.5 Flash API for prompt-driven summary and quiz synthesis. Implemented asynchronous endpoints using FastAPI with PostgreSQL and Redis caching.

Implemented: Audio extraction, speech-to-text pipeline, transcript chunking, modular summary generation, quiz generation.
In Development: Peer doubt-clearing communication channels, vector search with Qdrant & BGE embeddings, multi-speaker diarization.

Problem: Standard chatbots process user messages literally, lacking emotional awareness and adaptability.
Solution: An emotion-aware conversational assistant that classifies sentiment to provide supportive guidance and personalized recommendations.
Architecture Pipeline: 1. Emotion/Sentiment Classification: detects polarity and emotional markers. 2. Intent & Context Handling: tracks multi-turn state. 3. Semantic Retrieval: matches sentiment against curated recommendation datasets. 4. Response Synthesis: queries Gemini 2.5 API with conversation context.
Status: Implemented sentiment-aware prompting, dialogue management, and Gemini API response generation. FAISS vector index scaling is planned.
